Recently, our team at VisiMedia participated in the Royal Hackaway, a 24-hour hackathon focused on innovation and technology. Our goal was to create a product that could improve the quality of life for those with medical conditions, and what we developed was SafetyNet.

SafetyNet was inspired by one of our team members, Jess, who suffers from functional neurological disorder and has to deal with random seizures. She required the constant attention of a carer, which limited her independence and quality of life. Our team wanted to change that, and so we set out to create a solution that would allow Jess and others like her to have more freedom and peace of mind.

The result was SafetyNet, a mobile app that integrates with SMS notifications to check on the status of individuals with medical conditions. With this app, they can have their independence back while still having the ability to quickly alert their loved ones in the event of an emergency.

The Royal Hackaway was an intense and challenging experience, but our team was up for the challenge. We worked tirelessly for 24 hours, driven by our passion for innovation and our desire to make a difference in Jess's life and the lives of others like her. Our team consisted of developers, designers, and product managers who brought their diverse skillsets to the table, and together we created a solution that we were all proud of.

Even though we were not awarded the grand prize, our team was proud of what we had accomplished.
